Karen Erica Brusher, age 72, passed away July 4, 2024. Born to Ted and Adaline Dahlstrom on June 2, 1952 in Seattle, Karen was raised in Anacortes.
She leaves behind a beloved community of family, friends and pets. Karen is survived by: brother, Dennis Dahlstrom; son, Eric Carabba and wife Katrina Carabba with grandchildren Rowan Reich-Noriss and Oona Carabba and great grandchildren Pia, Magdalena, Joseph and Faustina; daughter, Serenity Ward and husband Gary Ward with grandchildren Aydan, Kiley and Rhys; daughter Maria Jawad and husband Saboor Jawad with grandchildren Saanga and Sadaf.
Karen was well known for her love of music, art and community. She spent the last 47 years nurturing her home in Acme Washington where she had a legacy of growing garlic, dahlias, raising goats and chickens. She always had an open door for neighbors and friends across the community. Her eccentric, bohemian flair will be missed by many family members and friends.
