This is not an obituary, but rather a brief tale of a life lived from a unique perspective. On February 11, 2025 Emily Dawn Chrisman, who also embraced the name Kenni, passed peacefully and suddenly at home. Born in Pasadena, CA on September 8, 2005, Emily’s journey took many turns – attending elementary school in Dallas, OR, middle and high school in Cypress, TX, and later moving to northern California before settling in Lynden, WA in 2024.
Emily had an uncanny ability to make friends anywhere and everywhere. Whether through school, online communities, or the magic of simply showing up and being Emily, connections were effortlessly made. Emily is survived by an immeasurable tribe of loved ones (old and new) – family, friends, and kindred spirits – along with the beloved and adorable kitties Chewya Pancakes and Lucky, who never left Emily’s side.
Summers were spent at Camp Sweeney in Gainesville, TX, where friendships were forged, memories were made, and undoubtedly, a few rules were bent. Emily had an undeniable knack for sharing opinions (solicited or otherwise), finding joy in the unusual, and turning even the most mundane moments into something uniquely entertaining. Passion for music, animation, and all things odd and eclectic shaped Emily’s world – sometimes chaotic, often unpredictable, but always full of life.
Emily’s presence was a whirlwind of love, laughter, debate, forgiveness, and frequent but often well-placed eye rolls. If there was a nap to be had, it was taken. If there was a conversation to be had, it was had – probably loudly, definitely with enthusiasm, and always with heart.
Though Emily’s time here was far too short, the impact left behind is immeasurable. The laughter, the love, and the beautiful chaos will live on in the countless stories, inside jokes, and the unforgettable stamp Emily left on the hearts of so many.
Emily's ashes will be interred with her Nana at Dallas Cemetery in Dallas, Oregon on a date to be determined.
